Victorian summer sparring championships
The online entry and forms are now open for the Victorians on the 20 to 21 March 2010.
All competitors are expected to compete in these competitions.

Black TaeKwonDo v City West Taekwondo v EVOlution Taekwondo v Team Taekwondo - Match Play
Black Taekwondo, City West, Evolution and Team Taekwondo have organised a Match Play for the 28 February 2010. We are heading over to:
City West Taekwondo Center
8 Costas Drive
Hoppers Crossing
Victoria 3029
The start time of the Match Play will commence at 10.00am and will finish a few hours later.
If you are attending you must meet all BTKD Members at BTKD Ringwood at 8.30am as we have to give out directions on how to get there, give out the Hogo's etc.
Please write your details at reception if you are attending the Match Play, so we can fit you with someone around your size and experience from the other clubs.

BTKD CLub instructor course
Black Taekwondo invites all current instructors and members intending to become instructors, to join the Club Instructor Course.
Date: Between Wednesday 25 to Friday 29 January 2010 - Three night course
Time: 6.00pm - 8.00pm (For all three nights)
Requirment: Age 14 years and over - Red and Black belts are necessary
Cost: Free

Stage 2 Grading and Award ceremony

After the Stage 2 Grading at 1:30pm, BTKD Ringwood will be holding its annual awards ceremony.
It would be great if all members could attend.

The second order of the BTKD Club Tracksuits are here.
If you have ordered a tracksuit they will be available to pick up from reception from the 16 December 2009.
Black Taekwondo Interclub Competition - Results
Black Taekwondo Interclub Competition - 22/11/2009
Black Taekwondo will be hosting its end of year Interclub competition on the 22 November 2009. The competition will be held at the Healesville Community Centre, Cameron Road Healesville (Next to Healesville High School).
This competition will include external taekwondo clubs. The aim of these competitions is for all competitors to gain as much competition experience in a friendly environment. The WTF new rules will apply. The competition will be aimed at all ages and skill levels.

The competition will include:
- Electronic scoring
- Two to Three rings.
- Qualified Referees
- Stadium Seating
- Trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place
- Duration of Competition Rounds
Under 14 - 1.5 minutes x 2 rounds
14 to 17 - 2 minutes x 3 rounds
Over 18 - 2 minutes x 3 rounds

Taekwondo fight night - 24 October
City West Taekwondo held a Fight Night in Hoppers Crossing on the 24 October 2009.
Black Taekwondo helped to support "Jayden's Fight Night Appeal 2009" by sending two of our outstanding competitors to fight in this worthwhile night.
These two competitors were:
Megan Broxam - Demonstration Sparring (Blue Belt)
Ben Lawson-Black - Main Event Sparring (Black Belt)
The night went off with a BANG with all participants as well as spectators showing a great amount of enthusiasm.
"SPECIAL THANKS to everyone that came along to support "Jayden’s Fight Back Appeal" on Saturday 24 October 2009. OHHH…and what a tremendous fundraising night it was, with Jayden clearly the star of the show, attracting well over 400 avid supporters to the home of City West Taekwondo.
Together, we somehow managed to raise a whopping $5,000 for the Janousek family through the Fight Night Appeal alone. UNBELIEVABLE EFFORT! With everyone assigned a job, we can proudly say the bbq was sizzling; raffle tickets soaring; drinks were in demand; auction sales were up; and the fighters…well they were in a league of there own! WELL DONE Team!!! With extra special thanks to our very important guests from MTC, Team TKD and Black TKD, for we all know a Fight Night could not be a Fight Night without the affiliation, organization and participation of supportive clubs such as these. TKD ROCKS!!!"

Success at Gisborne taekwondo invitational competition
Black Taekwondo was invited to attend the Gisborne Taekwondo Centre Sparring Championships. Everyone who competed had a great time and all BTKD competitors were placed either 1st or 2nd (see below for details). Overall the coaches were very pleased to note the outstanding efforts by all competitors. The Gisborne Competition has helped in making competitors feel more comfortable (and therefore more successful) in the ring. Keep up the great work!!!

New branch - Healesville
Black Taekwondo is now also operating out of Healesville. The centre is currently run at the Healesville High School (Camerons Road). Training commenced on the 25 August 2009.
Team Victoria training:
Everyone who competed and placed a medal at the previous Victorians are eligible to be apart of the Victorian State Team.
Training is as follows:
16th August Aqualink, Surrey Drive, Box Hill (Team Vic)
6th September SNHC, Brens Drive, Parkville
20th September Aqualink, Surrey Drive, Box Hill (Team Vic)
27th September SNHC, Brens Drive, Parkville
The Team Victoria Polo Shirts will be given out at the final training before Brisbane.

Black Taekwondo V city west taekwondo v evolution taekwondo
These four clubs had an outstanding training on the 30 August 2009. The clubs joined together to train as one, with approximatley 60 competitiors all giving it their best. Everyone who went to the training gained alot of experience by training and fighting out of their comfort zone. Black Taekwondo was very pleased with the attitude and commitment displayed by all club members. BTKD will be organising another Match Play as this particular event went off with a bang!

Congratulations to eveyone one who competed at the Tasmanian State Open. Black Taekwondo was very pleased with the results from all the competitiors. All competitors gained a lot of experience with copping in a very different sparring enviroment.

Black Taekwondo has created a Facebook Page so that we can post up coming events, important dates along with information about the club in general for everyone to see. We hope that everyone gets value out of this new way of communication.

Black Taekwondo's Club Tracksuit are avaliable to order from reception desk. All members who are interested in ordering a tracksuit place your name at reception for the next order. A minimum order of 20 names are required.
